Flower Parade in Holland 2021

Visit the world-famous flower parade in Holland and enjoy the many colors of spring. The parade is a Dutch tradition that many volunteers work for throughout the year. In 2021 the parade will run on Saturday 17 April.

If you want to visit the flower parade, it is wise to plan your visit well in advance. Due to its popularity, it is wise to leave early for the flower parade or book a hotel near the flower parade.
Keukenhof Flower Parade on April 17, 2021

More than one million people from all over the world enjoy the colorful flower floats. It’s the most famous parade in Holland and it’s unique because it uses spring flowers like Hyacinths, daffodils and tulips to decorate the parade floats. You will experience the ultimate spring feeling in the Netherlands.

Many people call this flower parade the Keukenhof Flower Parade. The real name is Bloemencorso Bollenstreek. Most visitors view the flower parade on the Keukenhof part of the route and combine the parade with a visit to the tulip garden and the tulip fields.
Tulip Parade

The flower parade is made of the beautiful spring flowers. They use Tulips, daffodils and hyacinths for the construction of the floats. The hyacinths ensure a wonderful spring scent. You can take a look at the construction of the flower parade on April 14, 15 and 16.
When will the Flower Parade take place?

The Flower Parade will be held on Saturday 17 April 2021 which is late in April. Most years the end of April is also the best time to see the tulip fields bloom. It is the 73th time this parade is being held. The 2020 edition was canceled because of COVID-19.

Viewing the parade from a grandstand

Want to watch the parade on a covered seat? There are three Grandstands available to watch the event. There is a stand in Lisse, Hillegom and one in Sassenheim. The Grandstands covers a lot of extra’s such as parking close by, sanitairy facilities and excellent catering. A speaker will provide the stands with commentary as the parade passes.

The price for a Grandstand is € 24,50 per person. Buy a parking ticket for an extra of € 7,50 per car. Be on time for parking, as the town of Lisse is because of the traffic not easily accessible. You will receive in advance a good, alternative route description.On top of visiting the parade, there is an offer for some extra activities to experience more about the region and its rich culture of bulb breeding.

Parades and Flower festivals during summer

Many parades are held in Holland in during summer. Summer Parades use different flowers than the parade in spring season. Primarily Dahlias are used to build up the gigantic flower floats.
