Virgil Abloh, the founder of the Haute streetwear label Off-White and a longtime creative director for Kanye West, will be the next artistic director of menswear at Louis Vuitton, one of the oldest and most powerful European houses in the luxury business.
He is a Streetwear designer best recognized as the mind behind the high fashion clothing and furniture collection Off-White.
Virgil Ablohis the creative director for rap superstar Kanye West and his creative content company DONDA. Before fame, in 2002, he graduated with a degree in civil engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Further studied architecture, in which he earned his master’s in architecture from the Illinois Institute of Technology.
Fast forward in 2011, he and Riccardo Tisci were nominated for the Grammy’s Album Packaging award for their work with Kanye West.
His parents immigrated to the U.S. from Ghana and raised him in Chicago, Illinois.
Virgil Abloh got married the beautiful Shannon in 2009.
He has collaborated with countless renowned designers and artists such as Vanessa Beecroft and Takashi Murakami.
Undoubtedly he’s doing magic with what he does best and his name is on the lips of many… He is a Ghanaian, Ghana must be proud of him.
