Celebrity makeup artist Diana Chibas is a master of metamorphosis.
A former plus size curvy model, the Cuban-American beauty began her makeup career in her late teens, glamming up a cast of Hollywood’s A-listers, including Gwyneth Paltrow, Goldie Hawn, Lara Spencer, Denise Richards, Carly Simon and Mary Tyler Moore.

Chibas grew up around art, culture and fashion in New York City, which prepared her to work on actors and models on photo shoots, TV sets and fashion shows. She spent years perfecting tricks of the trade, like how to make imperfect skin look flawless and playing up best features like lips or eyes. Her first big break was working with Katie Couric of “Today” anchor fame, when she was a reporter at WTVJ, the then-CBS news affiliate in Miami. That opened the door to to Chibas working her makeup magic on top talent at NBC-owned Univision.

“Knowing I wanted to expand my career, I made the bold move to Los Angeles where I not only had an extremely successful career as a celebrity artist but I also was discovered as a model,” Chibas says. “My life in front of and behind the camera gave me the skills to become the makeup artist and beauty stylist I am today. One minute, I was walking the catwalk, the next, I was designing makeup for the Opera House at Lincoln Center.”

After a fulfilling modeling career, Diana decided to make South Florida her home. In 2015, she opened the Superstar Beauty studio on Fort Lauderdale beach. Her celebrity clients include Chelsea Handler, Martina Navratilova, Chris Evert, Maeve Quinlan and Pam Shriver.

“My Superstar Beauty Studio is a comfortable, cozy place where I offer a variety of glamorous beauty services,” says Chibas, who is a licensed, certified esthetician and permanent makeup tattoo artist.

Chibas specializes in the latest beauty trends but dedicates much of her time to lash extensions and is an Advanced Certified Lash Stylist and Trainer for Xtreme Lashes by Jo Mousselli ® which is a big accomplishment and highpoint in her career.

She also devotes her time to microblading, permanent makeup, brow waxing and shaping, and, of course, professional makeup lessons. Microblading — in which fine deposits of tattoo pigments are used to simulate hair to camouflage missing eyebrows — has become a game changer in the world of beauty because it allows clients toss their eyebrow pencils for good.
